9 Pin SUB D Port Unidirectional, only receives information from the device cannot communicate back to the device. Information is converted to keystrokes and communicated to the application through the keyboard interface Supports decoded devices which send ASCII codes and use 5 volts or less (i.e. decoded barcode devices, MICR readers, OCR) Devices requiring more than 5 volts need to be self powered.
