A full 101 keyboard with a 63 key POS section and built-in track 1 & 2 MSR, the PC-POS provides the user with the familiarity of a regular PC keyboard and the flexibility of Preh's WX Series keyboards. Designed for POS applications requiring frequent alpha, numeric and PC command entry, a choice of contured or step-sculptured keys are offered in the QWERTY section. In addition to the built-in MSR (also available w/o MSR), a barcode decoder and serial interfaces are offerd as options.

General Information
The Commander PCPOS extended 101 full travel keyboard is a stylish but rugged data input device designed for use in open systems.

This high quality PC keyboard has all of the features of a normal 101 keyboard plus a 63 key POS section that can be configured, programmed and legended as required to meet the customers' changing POS needs. It has a built in MSR and is also available with a smart card reader. The key map is stored on board the keyboard via an EEPROM and is easily modified without the use of DIP switches with the Preh programmer (available elsewhere at this site).

The keyboard's modular construction allows for the following features:

Reconfigurable keys - any keysize, 1x1, 1x2, 1x3, 2x4, can be placed anywhere in the the 53 key section

Magnetic Stripe Reader (tracks 1&2, 2, 1-2 & 3 versions available)

Optional Bar Code Electronics (internal), Laser or Wand, switch selectable

Keytops avaialble in several colors and custom

2-4 position keylock

Smart Card Reader, Read-Write devices

Interface Options include PC-AT/PS2, RS-232, RS485

Printing Options include; paper inserts, molded, laser etched

Interface Information:

All optional peripherals interface through the internal bus system. Each of the data sources can be programmed with header and terminator data. This system allows for the use of the keyboard as a wedge, eliminating the need for multiple cables from multiple sources to clutter the POS station. All data, regardless of source, is transmitted over the keyboard cable.
